Research and Markets’ new report has shown that online sales will account for more than half the global retail growth between 2020 and 2025. This is because the global fashion market continues its shift to the digital, according to covid-19.
According to the platform’s annual Global Clothing B2C E-Commerce Market Report, around 10% of digital sales will be made by the fashion industry. Global Fashion Group and Asos were two of the most prominent players, with sales growth rates of between 10-20 percent in 2019 and 2020.
According to reports, Amazon and Shein were the top-visited sites for apparel shopping online in 2021. The latter was declared the most visited website since August. In the UK, Asos topped the popularity charts while Target was closely following Amazon in the US. Zalando and Zooplus, both online-only retailers in Germany, were the most popular.
The report shows that the online apparel market has grown faster than the previous years in 2020, despite the pandemic. Online sales of accessories and apparel increased nearly 19% in the US, making it the fastest-growing category of products. Similar results were reported in Japan and South Korea.
