manager_1 Adidas and Prada have reimagined luxury footwear and sportswear with Prada’s recyclable Re-Nylon textile. This is the latest chapter in their ongoing collaboration.
The Adidas for Prada Re-Nylon collection launched globally on January 13th. It combines the aesthetic codes of each brand, combining Prada’s craftsmanship with Adidas’ sportswear heritage and innovation.
The first collaboration between the brands was launched in 2019.
This 21-piece collection marks Prada’s transition from virgin nylon to Re-Nylon at the end 2021. Each piece was made in Italy by Prada, using the innovative textile that is recycled from textile fibre waste.
Adidas and Prada collaborate on apparel
Prada transformed the Adidas Originals Forum silhouette in its high and low versions with the Re-Nylon textile. It has added removable Prada mini-pouch attachments that feature the brand’s enamelled metal triangle to the sneaker’s aesthetic and functional identity.
Adidas describes the sneakers as “simultaneously elegant, subversive. They also have luxurious leather Three Stripes details on the forefoot and overlays that highlight Prada’s leather-working skills.”
Adidas for Prada Re-Nylon Forum High & Low sneakers will be offered in monochromatic black or white colours and packaged in premium boxes with dust bags bearing each brand’s logos.
Prada’s ready-to-wear and accessories collection features iconic pieces with Adidas branding, such as a track jacket, sweater, hooded coat and bucket hat. All of these items are reimagined using Re-Nylon textile. The pieces are available in two colour options – black with white stripes or white with black stripes. Each piece comes with Prada’s enamelled triangle logo.
Six bags are included in the collection that reflect Prada’s design style and fuse the DNA of both brands. The collection includes three large bags: a shopping bag, travel bag and backpack, as well as three smaller styles such a bandoleer and a BP hoodie. Each bag features Adidas’ trademark Three-Stripes detailing, and Prada’s metallic triangle logo.
Adidas for Prada Re-Nylon will be available worldwide in Prada boutiques as well as on Adidas’ and Prada’s websites starting January 13. It will also be accompanied with a digital activation where fans can participate in open-source co-creation through an exclusive digital activation.
Limited-edition Adidas Originals Superstar sneakers in white were adorned with black Prada logos and matched bowling bags. This was the first Adidas/Prada collaboration. The second Superstar sneaker style was offered in a trio new colours: monochrome black with black and white with black.
