Coach, a premium fashion house, has released a collaboration collection with Michael B. Jordan, actor and Coach ambassador, and Blue the Great.
The limited edition collection, which is based on the brand’s heritage, and the accompanying campaign aim to highlight inclusivity through art, as well as the friendship between the collaborators.
Blue the Great: The Art of Collaboration is a collection that combines Jordan’s modern style with Blue’s contemporary art. The unisex collection features ready-to wear pieces, footwear, bags, and accessories. It also takes into consideration the luxury craftsmanship of the label in sportswear and streetwear-inspired looks.
The line reimagines Coach’s Signature and Rexy designs, using Blue’s trademark mummy wrapped art to their reinvention. The range also includes a tote made from 100 percent recycled materials.
Coach’s creative director Stuart Vevers stated that they had previously worked with Blue in the spring 2021 campaign. He added, “I was excited to work with him and Michael on these special collections.” “Blue and Mike have a wonderful friendship that is rooted in mutual respect for one another’s artistic approaches. This collection was enhanced by the unique combination of Blue and Mike.”
The campaign imagery featured portraits of Jordan, Blue, and their friends. They were displayed in an art gallery as a symbol of appropriating such a space as a collaborative and authentic place, and replacing its traditional essence.
Further, the house was committed to highlighting underrepresented voices and artists in campaign storytelling.
