Uniqlo celebrates its 20th Anniversary in the UK through special events and partnerships

Uniqlo, a Japanese retailer, is celebrating its 20th year in the UK. There are special events, local partnerships and store updates in London to show our appreciation to Uniqlo’s first overseas market.

Celebrates include Somerset House late-night skate, charity campaigns, pop ups showcasing local business, and new features in store from digital layouts that offer interactive and educational information about Uniqlo LifeWear offerings to a return of a special UTme! Customers can design limited-edition Tshirts using the machine with partners Tokyo Bike, Jasper Morrison, and Tate Modern.

Uniqlo Europe’s chief executive Taku Morikawa stated in a statement that “we are proud that the United Kingdom is the first market Uniqlo chose outside of Japan twenty years ago. We wish to express our appreciation and thanks to all our customers and partners, who are at our heart of everything we do.”

“Our flagship store at 311 Oxford Street is the ideal location to launch a series activations during this special year. We will continue to offer the best customer experience possible, culminating in the opening of our new Regent Street store in spring 2022.”

Uniqlo’s 20th Anniversary Celebrations Highlights include a pop up residency at the flagship 311 Oxford Street store to London-based coffee roasters Perky Blenders, and a renewed partnership and partnership with Tate Modern to establish ‘Uniqlo Tate Play. This new initiative offers families unique ways to explore art and get creative together. There will also be ice skating at Somerset House featuring a line-up of top contemporary DJs, artists, and collectives.

Uniqlo will also highlight its 10-year-long partnership with Centrepoint, a local homeless charity. A monetary donation will be made to help pay for the hiring of a skilled jobs, education, and training worker.

The brand will also launch 20 colors of cashmere, and 20 colours for fleece. The fleeces are made from recycled PET plastic bottles. These product activations will be showcased at Uniqlo’s flagship store on Oxford Street.
