Parsons and Tory Burch partner in Empowering Future Fashion Leaders scholarship

Parsons School of Design announced a multidisciplinary partnership of five years with Tory Burch (designer and businesswoman). The partnership includes the establishment of the Empowering Future Fashion Leaders scholarship.

Burch will also gift a one-million dollar fund to support students each year.

Parsons intends to create a partnership and fund that will span many academic disciplines. Students studying BFA Fashion Design, MFA Textiles, and AAS Marketing and Communications will have the opportunity to interact with Tory Burch clothing line.

Participants will be mentored by Tory Burch’s team at the brands’ ateliers. They will also receive public lectures and work experience from the design house. Parsons students will also benefit from the scholarship fund, which is intended to help with educational admissions.

“Parsons is proud to partner Tory Burch to provide greater access to fashion education, industry-focused curricular experiences, said Ben Barry in a statement.

He said, “Tory’s purpose driven approach to fashion business created a new model and her designs, which were driven by deep research have become legendary in American fashion narratives. Tory is an inspiration for our students and I’m so excited for them to learn from her, her team and she.”
