Nike, Inc. filed a lawsuit against Lululemon Athletica Inc. regarding the infringement by six Nike, Inc. patents. This was in relation to the sale of the Mirror Home Gym, and related apps.

According to Reuters, the case involves, among others, technology that allows users target specific levels of exertion while competing against other users and recording their performance.

The US District Court in Manhattan received the complaint.

Lululemon: “We are confident in our position, and we look forward to defending that position in court.”

Lululemon stated in a statement that the patents granted to Nike are “very broad” and “invalid”. Lululemon reported that it is confident in its position and will defend it in court.

Nike is seeking triple damages due to alleged willful infringement and other claims.

In July 2020, Lululemon Athletica Inc purchased Mirror. Mirror is a company that offers a platform for people to exercise at home. It also provides an interactive platform where they can follow live or on-demand classes.
