Neiman Marcus and Balmain have teamed up to create a pop-up store that showcases the luxury brand’s partnership with Barbie. The pop-up is modeled after the glass pavilion at Paris’ iconic Grand Palais. Customers can use the park benches to interact with the limited-edition collection and walk through a pedestrian garden, much like the Tuileries.

The pop-up will be available at the Neiman Marcus NorthPark in Dallas, Texas from January 13 through 30. Weekend activations will include a live DJ set and a custom cotton candy machine. Customers can also take photos in a Barbie doll box for photo opportunities. This exclusive experience celebrates Neiman Marcus’ 10 year relationship with Balmain. Balmain is the luxury multi-brand retailer that has the largest selection of French fashion houses’ collections.

“We heard many customers say they want to have more fun with fashion. The special partnership between Balmain Barbie and Barbie does this and more,” Lana Todorovich (president and chief merchandising officers for Neiman Marcus) said in a statement. We are delighted to partner with Neiman Marcus on an exclusive pop up experience that celebrates the joy of dressing up and brings a modern multicultural take on Barbie to our Dallas NorthPark location. You can shop the limited-edition unisex collections while enjoying a unique experience created by Balmain. Neiman Marcus customers can look forward to seeing it come to life.

This limited-edition collection features new interpretations of familiar Balmain designs, such as the iconic mariniere and Labyrinth patterns. Many new designs are also available that were introduced by Balmain on the Paris Fashion Week runways. Each offering is slightly modified to reflect the Barbie aesthetic while still adhering to the strict standards of Balmain’s ateliers. Neiman Marcus offers several exclusive styles including a maxi monogramm dress for 8495, a boat neck Balmain printed sweater dress for 1395, and a large denim jacket with embroidered badges at 5350.

Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing, and his Balmain design team were also inspired by the Barbie universe’s familiar bright iconography. Badges, tees and hoodies are inspired by the bold graphic treatment one instantly recognizes as Barbie’s. Many accessories are innovative hybrids of Balmain packaging and Barbie packaging.

“I love the way inspiration flowed both directions for this special Balmain/Barbie partnership.” Rousteing said in a statement that it was easy to see how Rousteing and my design team riffed off the familiar flair, colors and graphics of Barbie’s universe. “This limited-edition collection gives new and unexpected twists to many of Balmain’s most cherished signatures, such as the mariniere or the 50-year-old Labyrinth design. Neiman Marcus’ Dallas pop-up is a unique example of that spirit. It cleverly combines two visions. We know this is the Paris Barbie would love to hang out in. It has all the classic touches you’d find along my neighborhood’s most famous avenues.”

The collection will be online at Neimanmarcus.com as well as in select Neiman Marcus shops. Prices range from 295 to 42,494 USD.
