Although I love the Breton top just as much as you, I feel it has become a little duller. This is heresy. The Breton is proud to be identified as a football shirt for those who don’t like football shirts. It speaks of simple, but good tastes. It speaks of a range lifestyle choices that feel like values, such as olive oil, Scandi Noir box sets, and wild swimming.
But the Breton is a victim of its own success. It used to have a little bit of edge, but that is gone now. It is now the pinstripe suit for north Cornwall in this age of holidaying abroad. This is not a personal attack on anyone. It’s time for some jazz to save the soul of Breton.
