Glosswire and Fashwire donate to Virgil Abloh’s Post Modern Scholarship Fund

Fashwire and Glosswire, both fashion and beauty portals, have committed to donating money to the late Virgil Abloh’s Post-Modern Scholarship Fund.

Glosswire donated $1 for each download of its app during December 2021. Fashwire will do the same throughout January 2022. These donations will be used to honor Abloh’s legacy by supporting the philanthropic cause.

In partnership with Fashion Scholarship Fund, the designer’s Post-Modern Scholarship Fund has been established in 2020. It aims to support African-American and Black students of academic promise. The fund will provide scholarships as well as career support and mentoring for the recipients.

Kimberly Carney (CEO and founder of Fashwire and Glosswire) stated in a statement that “It was unambiguously clear to me what Fashwire or Glosswire would accomplish in terms of a philanthropic appeal to action following the untimely death of Virgil Abloh, November 2021.”

She said that “Abloh’s death was not only a loss for our community on the fashion stage, but also because of his deep commitment and commitment to philanthropy. Our shared mission to create financial, educational, and professional opportunities for all, as well as mentorships to promising young students, made this a natural fit.”
