Oakland Shakewell: Eat in Oakland

We almost ate more than we could chew with four different dishes shared between us. The Jamon Croquetas were served with piment d’espelette and roasted poblano. They had a wonderful texture, crispy on the outside but silky smooth inside. The Papas Bravas, made with purple majesty potato, piquillo chili sauce, aioli and rosemary sea salt were also perfectly baked.
The paella was made with Brentwood corn, summer squash, peas, carrot-jalapeno sofrito, saffron, roasted peppers, vegetable stock, sherry, castelvetrano olives, and aioli. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the flavors inside were delicious. We finally made it to Chicken & Churros. This included fried spice-rubbed chicken breasts, buttermilk syrup, and the thickest churros that I have ever seen. The chicken was well-seasoned, and the churros were perfectly fried.
This was a truly decadent meal I’ll be remembering for a while. I’m going to be back next time for dinner. What are your recommendations for Shakewell?
