manager_1 Converse joined the celebrations of Pokemon’s 25th anniversary with a line of footwear, apparel and accessories that are inspired by the nostalgic video game.
Converse’s Chuck Taylor All Star x Pokemon Collection for children and adults launches December 10. It features the original Pokemon class, which includes Bulbasaur and Charmander as well as Squirtle and Jigglypuff.
This collection is designed to outfit Pokemon trainers of all ages and includes Chuck Taylor All Star shoes in sizes infant through adult with a graphic print featuring Bulbasaur and Charmander as well as Squirtle, and Pikachu. The group is welcoming Jigglypuff to their home on the right, while Meowth awaits them in battle stance on the left.
The Chuck patch and top eyelet are also reinterpreted as Poke Balls. A custom license plate is added to the back of each shoe with a lightning bolt motif that was inspired by Pikachu’s Electric-type Moves.
A full range of Pokemon characters have been added to the original basketball sneaker. The Poke Ball Chuck Taylor All Star has an all-over Pokemon pattern printed on a white canvas upper. The sneaker’s lateral features a Poke Ball that is squeezable and domed.
Converse continues to celebrate Pokemon’s 25th anniversary
There are footwear options for even the most novice Pokemon fan. The Easy-On Chuck Taylor All Star has two of the franchise’s most well-known Pokemon. Pikachu is dressed in a bright yellow canvas with one strap above the elastic laces. His likeness is also printed on a yellow leather tip cap with ears that pop out of the front and a lightning bolt tail at his heel. This all refers to the character’s electrical abilities.
For smaller fans, there is a second Chuck Taylor. It has two straps that allow for maximum adjustability. Jigglypuff singing is printed on a pink canvas and overlapping slightly with the rubber foxing tap.
This collaboration also features apparel inspired by rock-tour merchandise, including a jacket inspired by Pikachu’s electric moves as well as a hoodie with “tour stops” from the world Pokemon. A pink crew neck sweater has been embroided with an edgy Jigglypuff graphic, while long and short sleeves T-shirts highlight Pokemon favorites through graphic prints, 25th celebration branding, and a pink crew neck sweater.
A retro-styled camp cap with a Pikachu graphic and an “electrified Converse wordmark” on the back is available. There’s also a Go 2 Backpack which pays tribute to Pikachu’s abilities with an all-over lightning graphic.
Converse By You is the brand’s digital customization experience that allows fans to create their own Pokemon Converse Converse.
Converse x Pokemon will be available worldwide on December 10, at Converse.com as well as select retailers selling adult and youth sizes. Prices range from 25-62 pounds to custom pricing.
