The calendar costs 825 dollars or 610 pounds and includes ‘gifts’ such as Chanel stickers, magnets, and an empty dustbag. It also features a string bracelet featuring a No. Users complain that the contents are too expensive.
One user received over 11 million views as a result of the TikTok videos showing him unpacking his calendar box. Each of the 27 calendar boxes contains a Chanel-branded surprise or makeup. The latter received many negative comments on Instagram because it was ‘cheap’.
One user said that the tiny sample of body lotion under number 31 contained “just enough cream for me left arm” and others described it as a free gift with purchases from the company’s makeup or fragrance ranges.
Chanel’s website clearly lists the contents of the calendar but does not list the monetary value. It seems that there is a disconnect between the customer who may find these gifts sufficient ‘fun’ and the customer who is looking to buy value for money for Chrimstas.
Chanel states on their website that the collector’s item consists of 27 boxes, each numbered 5 to 31. Each box contains a full-sized perfume or makeup product, as well as a miniature or other surprise marked with Gabrielle Chanel’s lucky number. This is a piece you will treasure for many years.
