Armed and dressed in their finest, the men robbed the Italian luxury house at night using a grey BMW as a getaway vehicle and two scooters to distract. Police later arrested all of them.

Worth noting, Paris is a frequent target for jewelry thefts.

This summer, multiple heists had happened

According to Reuters the Bulgari heist was the third robbery that took place in Paris this summer. A man riding a scooter stole 2,000,000 euros worth of Chaumet jewelry on July 27. The stolen goods were later recovered from the arrest of the accomplice and the man on a scooter. Armed men stole 400,000 euro worth of jewels from the Dinh Van boutique in August.

A long refurb

Bulgari was under renovation for 2 years before it’s highly publicized reopening at Place Vendome. The Maison, which is owned by LVMH has one of the most beautiful locations on the square. Peter Marino designed the building. It is decorated with wallpapers and shimmering drapes.

Place Vendome in Paris is the epitome French sophistication. It’s also a prestigious address where luxury jewelry flagships such as Van Cleef & Arpels are located.
